Terms of use
1. Provider and scope
These future terms will govern use of the Ruby Messenger iOS app and related services provided by Tim Tiefenbach – TeaFan Media. The final version will identify the provider, supported territories, effective date and the relationship with Apple's App Store terms.
2. Eligibility and accounts
Ruby Messenger is designed so that adults aged 18 or over may create their own account. People under 18 will only be able to use the service as a learner through the future Family flow with an eligible adult acting as payer and guardian. The final terms will describe account security, accurate information and the guardian process.
3. The service
Ruby Messenger provides invite-only messaging, reading support such as furigana, word explanations and learning features based on conversations. The final terms will describe supported features, availability, service changes and technical requirements.
4. Trial and subscriptions
The planned seven-day Ruby Messenger trial is operated by Ruby Messenger and does not automatically convert into a paid Apple subscription. Paid Single and Family subscriptions will be purchased and billed through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
Before launch, this section will state each subscription period, renewal behaviour, how to manage or cancel a subscription through Apple, what happens after expiry, and how Family seats work. Prices and periods shown in the app and Apple's purchase sheet will control the purchase.
5. User content and acceptable use
The final terms will set rules for messages, media, invitations and other user content, including prohibited illegal, abusive, harmful or rights-infringing use. They will also explain reporting, blocking and actions Ruby Messenger may take to protect users and the service.
6. Ending use, deletion and access
The final terms will explain account deletion, subscription cancellation, data export, suspension and termination. Ruby Messenger is planned to keep existing conversations readable after a trial or subscription ends while restricting paid actions.
7. Liability, consumer rights and governing law
Applicable warranty, liability, mandatory consumer rights, governing law and dispute provisions still require final legal wording tailored to the launch territories. Nothing in the final terms will limit rights that cannot legally be excluded.
